10 Star Trek Guest Stars Who Played Iconic Movie Characters

8. Christopher Lloyd

Lloyd Trek Films that cross the line of both cult adoration and mainstream success aren't always that easy to come by. One that does it in style however, is 80's classic Back To The Future. Despite the fact we only have just over a year to invent flying cars and hoverboards, it is truly a film that has withstood the test of, ahem, time, and remains a firm favourite today. While other time travel films often fall by the wayside, this entire trilogy has the added bonus of Dr. Emmett "Doc" Brown. Combining just the right amounts of eccentric genius, and avuncular mentor, he stands fast by Marty's side without you ever questioning exactly why a high school teenager would choose to spend so much time with him, especially considering his ease at stealing from Libyan terrorists. Christopher Lloyd has starred in a number of recognisable films, from The Postman Always Rings Twice, to even playing Professor Plum in the Cluedo adaptation Clue. More recently he has also been seen in the Piranha reboots, but back in the 80's, fresh from his five year role in US sit-com Taxi, it was his stint at commanding a Klingon Bird of Prey, and the role of central villain in Star Trek III: The Search For Spock, that arguably led to his casting as the most beloved Doc that never went to medical school.
