10 Star Wars Characters Who Only Had One Movie To Shine

9. Captain Panaka - The Phantom Menace

Captain Panaka often gets overlooked because most of his expertise was ignored in favor of Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan€™s strategizing. First, he was overruled when he suggested they stay away from Tatooine because it was controlled by the Hutts. Later, after her unsuccessful plea for help in the Senate, his attempts to keep the Queen on Coruscant failed after she stated she would go back to Naboo and fight. What€™s the point in having a security officer if you€™re never going to listen to him? Last time I checked, Panaka wasn't Worf on the U.S.S. Enterprise. Regardless, Panaka demonstrated his battle prowess in the climx of the movie. Organizing the remaining Naboo security forces, Panaka and the Queen led the attack on the Theed Palace. After infiltrating the palace, it was Panaka€™s idea take the Queen and several other soldiers and split off from the main force. This small group used their grapple guns as a shortcut to get to a higher level in the palace. Although they were captured, Panaka later assisted the queen in capturing Nute Gunray, viceroy of the Trade Federation. Panaka€™s advice may have been ignored during the movie (because Jedi ALWAYS know better), but you can't deny that he's one hell of a soldier.
