10 Star Wars Characters Recast With Disney Animated Characters

5. Hercules as "Luke Skywalker"

I don't feel all that great about this decision, and feel free to offer another suggestion in the comments section below (Maybe Milo from Atlantis or King Arthur from Sword in the Stone?) but I think the two share a pretty similar journey, and for much of the film are pretty similar characters. Like most of Disney's heroes, Luke is your pretty standard hero archetype so he shares a lot with many of the Disney characters because he is the protagonist that goes on a quest- much like the plot of many Disney films. The reason I chose Hercules is because they both start off their films in pretty similar positions. Both are quite vulnerable young males who want more out of life and want to go on a great epic adventure. They both start off the film somewhat powerless- or more accurately without knowing exactly how to use and control the power they both have. Luke gets help from a small creature by the name of Yoda, and Herc gets help from a small creature by the name of Phil. These small creatures help the characters control and use their powers for good, and encourage both of them to keep level headed and not be caught up in the temptations and arrogance that come with the power they have. Added to this, they both have pretty all powerful and iconic fathers, and both of their enemies die at the end by falling off a ledge. They also get the chance to come face to face with their estranged fathers at the end, but only for a very brief amount of time. Personality wise, they also both have a level of naivety and a childlike quality which would make Herc not perfect, but a pretty good choice for this role.
