10 Star Wars Characters SAVED By The Expanded Universe

7. The Mandalorians

This is something of a cheat entry but the Mandalorians lost so much when Disney consigned the Knights of the Old Republic franchise to the realms of Legends (sort of). The KOTOR series detailed the Mandalorians as fearsome, brutal warriors who were capable of slaughtering even the Jedi Knights of the time, but without these stories in canon, the only Mandalorians we ever saw were Jango & Boba Fett - plus the Clone Army of the Republic.

Jango Fett proved to be no match for a Jedi as Mace Windu made short work of the Bounty Hunter, and what exactly did Boba Fett achieve in Episodes V and VI? He was basically given Han Solo and then a jet pack malfunction saw him plunge into the Sarlacc pit to be digested over thousands of years.

(Well, until he returns in the next season of The Mandalorian, at least.)

Then came redemption for the Mandalorian clans as The Clone Wars reinstated their fearsome reputation as warriors and the exceptional Mandalorian series has shown the fans that although they may not say too much, they are fierce warriors and masters of the survival instinct.
