Despite being one of the deadliest bounty hunters in the galaxy, Fennec Shand very nearly bit the dust after underestimating an opportunistic rookie.

Cursed with having a big bounty placed on her head, Shand had taken refuge on Tatooine, but was not safe for long. Soon, Din Djarin and a bounty hunter newcomer, Toro Calican, went searching for her, eager to claim the credits. Eventually, the pair were able to capture Shand, but not before she cleverly caused a schism between Djarin and Calican. Revealing to Calican that the Mandalorian had an even higher bounty on his head for the abduction of an important Imperial asset, the newcomer agreed to free Shand, so they could hunt Djarin.

Sadly for Fennec, Calican decided to gun her down, knowing that she would have done the same to him as soon as she was freed. The bounty hunter left her for dead as he returned to Mos Eisley to search for the asset, better known as Grogu. The next night, Boba Fett found her unconscious body, and brought Shand to a mod artist, who installed cybernetics to her blaster wound. Having been given a second chance, Fennec swore to follow and serve Fett, with the pair eyeing up the throne of Tatooine for themselves.
