10 Star Wars Characters With Most Wasted Potential

Finn, played by the brilliant John Boyega, was everyone's pick to be the breakout character of the new Star Wars films.

He was given much more prominence than Rey in the Force Awakens marketing, as everyone was led to believe that he was the Force-wielder instead of her.

And then things went a bit weird.

Perhaps in the wake of the vile backlash against Finn, Rose Tico, and other characters of colour in The Last Jedi, The Rise of Skywalker took this main character and reduced him to little more than a background part.

He was given nothing in the final film. Even the "big secret" he had for Rey was never revealed. The writers forgot about him halfway through their own movie!

The most tragic part of all of this, is that early drafts of the script had Finn doing so much more. He was meant to turn the rest of the Stormtroopers against the First Order and lead them into battle, but instead he became a bit-part player in a series that lost all respect for him.

Fingers crossed he finally gets the arc he deserves one day.
