10 Star Wars Characters With Most Wasted Potential
9. Galen Erso
Is it controversial to say that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the most complete single Star Wars film ever made?
It tells a great story, introduces a whole host of memorable characters, and does all this without relying too heavily on the rest of the series.
Is that okay to say?
Either way, the action in Rogue One wouldn't have happened were it not for the courageous efforts of Galen Erso.
The father of lead character Jyn, Erso is a scientist working with the Empire on the development of the first Death Star. It is he who leaks the location of the battle station's plans, setting in motion the events of this film and the entire original trilogy.
Despite being the one responsible for the intelligence, Galen doesn't get much screen time in Rogue One. A lot more of it is devoted to his daughter, which is fine, but it's hard not to feel like a lot was left on the table when it came to this heroic genius.
Basically, everyone needs more Mads Mikkelsen in their life, and this would have been a great way to do that.
