One of the more eye-catching images released features a number of extras sitting next to what appears to be the engine of a pod racer. The real question now is: does this mean there will be a pod-racing sequence in Episode VII? The overlong, effects-heavy racing sequence from Episode I was highly divisive among fans (and with lines like "Now this is pod-racing!", rightly so), and so if it is on the cards, Abrams will have to be careful to avoid the very same pitfalls Lucas fell into. That said, there's no need to jump to conclusions, as we cannot see an actual pod racer attached to the engine, and it's entirely possible that in a desolate marketplace like Tatooine, a merchant simply has a junky old pod racer engine kicking around that he's trying to sell.
