8. Pykes
The Pyke syndicate was one of the most powerful members of the Spice Cartel. Spice was an illicit drug that originated on the planet of Kessel where it was mined by slaves. The Spice Cartel controlled the distribution of the drug across the galactic underworld.
Being at the head of the Spice Cartel made the Pykes incredibly powerful, and feared, throughout the galaxy. Their control of Spice ensured the continued use, and abuse, of slaves on the planet of Kessel.
The Pykes also maintained a relationship with the Sith Lord, Dooku. They murdered the Jedi Sifo-Dias merely because Dooku requested the assassination.
In general, the Pykes were not a family you wanted to deal with, much less get in debt with them. They controlled entire systems, a huge number of slaves, and they have ties to powerful dark force users. Both Dooku and Maul used the aid of the Pykes.
These guys killed a Jedi Master on a whim. Your average Star Wars citizen doesn’t stand a chance!
