9. Tusken Raiders

Tusken Raiders, also known as Sand People, are the highly xenophobic natives of the desert planet Tatooine. They live in small tribes consisting of 20 to 30 members. The Tusken Raiders regarded Tatooine as their planet. They considered all other inhabitants as outsiders. Tuskens also considered water sacred resources that belonged to only them. This did not bode well for the moisture farmers of Tatooine.

Tusken males were raised as warriors. At the age of 15, a male Tusken Raider set off into the desert to become an adult. To do this, Tuskens had to slay a Krayt Dragon, a deadly apex predator, and retrieve a pearl from the dragon's belly. If a Tusken failed to slay the dragon then they didn’t have to worry about becoming an adult because they would definitely be dead.

Krayt dragons are, after all, literal dragons.

Once the Raiders proved themselves they would spend their adult lives wreaking havoc on moisture farmers. Because they believed that all water was sacred and promised to them, they didn’t have a problem with killing anyone else looking to possess this valuable resource.

Despite their hostile nature, Tuskens were known to negotiate with outsiders as long as you had something they wanted. They were, however, extremely aggressive towards criminal elements such as slavers.

So, if you find yourself on Tatooine, you try and steer clear of these desert-born, dragon slayers.

Unless your name is Anakin Skywalker, and you want to impress your girlfriend with a small act genocide.
