There were a lot of reasons why Qui-Gon Jinn gravitated towards Anakin Skywalker and believed him to be the prophesied Chosen One. Among the fact that his Midi-chlorian count was higher even than that of Master Yoda's, there was the fact that he didn't have a father. Naturally, this immediately raised eyebrows.
