Andy Serkis recently shocked Star Wars fans with a completely unexpected, yet excellent appearance in Andor, but of course, this wasn't the actor's first rodeo with Lucasfilm. The man who brought King Kong, Gollum, and Caesar to life was also behind the motion capture for Supreme Leader Snoke.

Originally thought to be the main big-bad of the franchise, it was ultimately revealed that he wouldn't in fact be the sequel trilogy's version of Emperor Palpatine. That would actually be Palpatine. Again.

The Last Jedi killed off Snoke in arguably the most unceremonious way possible, before The Rise of Skywalker confirmed that he was actually something of a clone created by the Emperor himself. You'd have thought that maybe Andy Serkis would've been told this, but even he was kept in the dark.

Serkis said he had an inkling that Snoke and Palpatine may have been one and the same, but nothing was ever confirmed. In reality, there's no guarantee that this was the plan from the beginning, given how disconnected the sequel movies were from each other.
