10 Star Wars Planets That Were Destroyed

9. Yuuzhan'tar

Star Wars The Force Awakens
Dark Horse Comics

The destruction of this planet from the Legends continuity kicked off one of the most deadly conflicts in Star Wars history following the fall of the Empire, and the actual demise of the world is never shown to us.

In a separate galaxy to the far, far away one we all know and love, the inhabitants of the sentient planet of Yuuzhan'tar, the Yuuzhan Vong, were once a peaceful race before a droid military force attacked their home world. During the conflict, the species became increasingly violent. Once the world was free, the Yuuzhan Vong began a crusade to eliminate all droids and machines from their galaxy.

They succeeded in conquering and enslaving many star systems, but saw multiple clans turn against each other, resulting in a civil war that destroyed many planets, including Yuuzhan'tar. With their world destroyed, the Yuuzhan Vong were cut off from the Force and left in endless pain.

They would eventually rebuild, and this now-war hungry society began a millennia-long search for a new home, leading them across the universe and into a confrontation with Luke Skywalker and the New Republic.
