10 Star Wars Planets That Were Destroyed

8. Katarr

It was once said that "the ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force". This is a case in which to say "why not have both?"

In the days of the Old Republic, following the Jedi Civil War, a new enemy began targeting the remaining Jedi through the Force, eliminating them without showing themselves. The remaining masters decided to force this new threat out of the shadows and face them head on. To do so, they used themselves as bait.

In order to tempt them out of hiding, the Jedi gathered on the Force-sensitive world of Katarr. This planet was home to the Miraluka, a blind humanoid species who were able to see through the Force. This made the perfect place for the Jedi to make their stand.

This backfired in a spectacular way. Yes, the threat did reveal itself, but the Sith Lord Darth Nihilus fed off the massive Force energy, not only from the Jedi, but the world itself. He absorbed all power from Katarr until nothing living remained; people, plants, animals, everything gone to feed this vampiric Sith.
