10 Star Wars Scenes Actors HATED Shooting
2. Terence Stamp Travelled Halfway Around The World To Act To Paper - The Phantom Menace
Another prequel actor who wasn't best pleased with the idea of swapping out a genuine actor for an inanimate object takes up a spot on this list as Terence Stamp's odd quest to look Natalie Portman in the eye ultimately went up in flames thanks to George Lucas' bold new vision.
When recalling his time working on the The Phantom Menace as Chancellor Valorum, Stamp told Empire Magazine that he "didn't rate (Lucas) that much as a director, really." Perhaps this opinion was largely the result of Stamp being led to believe he was due to act opposite Portman at one point in the day, only for Lucas to spring an unexpected twist on him late on.
After flying all the way from Australia to shoot with the Leon: The Professional star, Stamp wandered onto a suspiciously Portman-less set. The question of "Where's Natalie?" was then answered with a "That's Natalie" and a point to a piece of paper on a wall. Needless to say, Stamp found everything that followed "just boring".
