10 Star Wars Scenes Everyone Gets Wrong

4. Luke's "Force Kick" Wasn't A Mistake

For all of the dozens of times we've all seen Return of the Jedi, many fans keenly sneer at the "mistake" when Luke Skywalker whiffs kicking one of Jabba the Hutt's lackeys in the face while attempting to rescue Leia.

As many have pointed out over the decades, Luke's foot doesn't get even close to connecting with the soldier's face, but this isn't even remotely a case of the stunt team screwing up the action beat.

Storyboards for the scene confirm that Luke was always meant to kick from afar, as was later entered into Star Wars canon as a "Force kick" - albeit more recently relegated to the Legends continuity.

Sure, the actual choreography of the scene still looks pretty clumsy, but when comparing the final shot to the storyboard, they totally nailed what Lucas had in his head. Hilariously, Mark Hamill himself couldn't resist but recently post a joking tweet about the "widely celebrated, perfectly executed Force kick."
