10 Star Wars Subplots That Went Literally Nowhere
1. Snoke's Storyline (The Last Jedi)
Snoke was introduced as, what we assumed to be, the big baddie of the new trilogy. Wielding a level of influence over the troubled Kylo Ren that the Emperor would be proud of, the Supreme Leader of the First Order is one seriously bad dude. From his booming voice, huge size and deformed face, he steals every scene in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi he appears in, gripping audience's attentions and allowing them to run away with all manner of theories over his backstory, life, motivations and powers.
His death in The Last Jedi was so sudden and shocking that many viewers assumed that such a fierce and intimidating end was just the beginning for this mysterious foe. And whilst Rise of Skywalker bridged some of the gaps between Snoke, Palpatine, Rey and Kylo, it was so subtle that most casual viewers probably skipped over most of the intricate details.
Snoke's entire arc has become a subplot now that Rise of Skywalker has shown us Palpatine's return, and there's still more questions surrounding the former architect of the First Order than answers.
