10 Star Wars Subplots That Went Literally Nowhere

4. How The Rebels Stayed Hidden (Rogue One)

As the face of the good in the galaxy, the struggle against oppression and a symbol of hope in a time of darkness, it's amazing how little audiences get to see of just how the Rebel Alliance operates and functions as a group.

Every film in the original trilogy essentially opens with the Alliance on the run from the Empire and hiding out on Yavin, Hoth or Endor. The sheer amount of logistics, planning, calculating and luck involved with transporting so many ships, weaponry and manpower around the galaxy seems like a ridiculously tough thing to pull off, and it would have been great to see it in action.

On top of that, how would a group like the Rebels finance all of these operations? Wealthy backers such as Bail Organa would have undoubtedly helped, but the ins and outs of evading a powerful force such as the Empire would have been tough.

Rogue One and the Rebels have gone a long way in answering this subplot, however, given how most of the original trilogy shows an Alliance on the back foot, it would have been nice to see just how these rogues managed to pull themselves back into the ring after a big defeat.
