10 Star Wars: The Force Awakens Rumours That Ended Up Being Bullsh*t

7. Count Dooku's Descendant

J.J. Abrams' love for A New Hope was clear to see in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and while you might think that he would do everything in his power to avoid referencing the prequels in any way, Kylo Ren mentioning the possibility of Snoke using a Clone Army is an indication that the characters and stories from those films will continue to factor into these movies. It was theorised that one of the ways of doing that would be to have one of the main villains be a descendent of Attack Of The Clones and Revenge Of The Sith baddie Count Dooku. Now that we know Kylo Ren is really the son of Han Solo and Princess Leia, that's taken off the table, leaving only Gwendoline Christie's Captain Phasma as one of the possibilities for a genetic link to the not-so-loved movies. However, there were no indications of that being the case, especially as Phasma had such little screentime. There's a chance of course that this lineage will be further explored in Episode VIII (Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy has already confirmed that she'll return), but I for one thing it could be interesting to reveal that Rey is a member of the Dooku family. Regardless, this rumour has yet to pay off.
