10 Star Wars: The Force Awakens Rumours That Ended Up Being Bullsh*t

8. The Inquisitors Return

When Star Wars Rebels launched on Disney XD, fans were told to watch out for possible connections between the animated series and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. By far one of the biggest reveals was the existence of a group of Inquisitors created by Darth Vader and the Emperor to hunt down the Galaxy's remaining Jedi, and it didn't take long for rumours to surface indicating that they would make the leap to the big screen. It was said that Rebels only covered their beginnings, and by the time the events of Episode VII had rolled around, this mysterious group had taken control of the Galaxy in the Emperor's place. This is one of the few rumours here which really went in depth with its explanation too, as it was claimed that a flashback would feature Darth Vader paying a visit to Alderaan with these Inquisitors in a bid to find Obi-Wan Kenobi while a young Princess Leia - played by Carrie Fisher's real-life daughter Billie Lourd - would be seen watching on in horror. In hindsight, that now read like bad fan fiction, and while the Knights of Ren may have some vague similarities to this group from the popular animated series, chances are that the movie aren't going to be picking up on any plot threads from Rebels in the near future. Still, it's hard to escape the feeling that this would have been pretty cool to see play out in some way on the big screen...
