8. Mace Windu
Star Wars is not afraid to raise characters from the dead. Boba Fett recently returned in The Mandalorian, so there is every chance that Mace Windu could have survived his encounter with Emperor Palpatine.
This would be the best way to explore Windu. Not a prequel, but a sequel showing how he survived Order 66 and went into hiding like Yoda. We know through various pieces of lore that Mace Windu is one of the most powerful Jedi in the universe. Anakin acknowledges this when he states, "As wise as Master Yoda and as powerful as Master Windu." But we never got to see this in the films.
No one wants Mace Windu to come back more than Samuel L. Jackson and he is the perfect age to portray a seasoned, wise Jedi Master. This could be Windu's swan song in the galaxy and could also feed into a lot of the new canon. There is also still the mystery of his connection to the Dark Side of the force waiting to be explored.
