Last Film Entry: Halloween II (2009)

What's going on? Six years after Rob Zombie's two-movie reimagining of the series concluded, it was announced this past June that Michael Myers is finally returning to theaters. Written by Saw sequel vets Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan and directed by the latter, the new film won't be following in the footsteps of Zombie's films but will loosely link back to - at the least - the original two films of the series.

Titled Halloween Returns, the story will reportedly pick up with Michael on death row. With his execution nigh, two kids sneak in to witness the event only for everything to go wrong and lead to The Shape's escape, setting the killer back on the loose to terrorize Haddonfield once more. Other than that and Dunstan's desire to get Community's Gillian Jacobs onboard, any deeper details are pretty much under wraps, though fans can expect to likely see it this time next year.
