Last Film Entry: Scream 4 (2011)

What's going on? Over a decade after the series' relevance was gone, Wes Craven took a stab at reviving it with Scream 4, though its underwhelming performance financially and critically kept further sequels from gaining real traction. Instead, MTV brought the franchise to the small screen earlier this year, shedding the baggage of the four films - and even redesigning Ghostface's mask - in order for the new series to stand on its own two feet.

Between the fact that no one involved on the film side has expressed any interest in making any more movies in recent days and the fact that Craven passed away this past August, it's pretty fair to say that Ghostface won't be turning up on the big screen again anytime soon.

MTV has already renewed their series for a second season in 2016, though, so the brand still has some life left in it, even though it's a '90s relic at this point.
