Coffee and cigarettes are two more intrinsic elements of the David Lynch persona. In most pictures from the sets of his films, the director can be seen with one or both vices in his hands. Believe it or not, though, he’s actually doing a lot better than he used to be.

According to the man himself, he used to ingest over 20 cups of coffee a day. One can only imagine what this insane level of caffeine and nicotine consumption did to his nerves (and his stomach and lungs).
