10 Strange Plot Holes From Famous Movies (That Rarely Get Mentioned)

3. Why Does Padme Go Undercover By Her Real Name? - Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace

008 George Lucas must have a thing for making his characters go into hiding under their real names as he does it in the originals with Luke Skywalker and he does it again in the Phantom Menace, when Queen Amidala lets one of her handmaidens switch roles with her. For some reason however, she doesn't even change her name as she still goes by the name Padme. Once again, nothing bad comes out of this, but it's just strange that she really doesn't change her appearance, mannerisms or name whatsoever. The Phantom Menace has its share of plot holes (Jar Jar doesn't count as one though), but this one seems like it would be the easiest to fix.

I love movies, literature, history, music and the NBA. I love all things nerdy including but not limited to Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and Firefly. My artistic idols are Dylan, Dostoevsky, and Malick and my goal in life is to become like Bernard Black from Black Books. When I die, I hope to turn into the space baby from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
