10 Strange Plot Holes From Famous Movies (That Rarely Get Mentioned)

4. Why Does Princess Leia Lead The Imperials Right To Yavin IV? - Star Wars

007 In Star Wars, Princess Leia is rescued from the Death Star by Han Solo and Luke Skywalker and proceeds to take the stolen plans to the rebel base on Yavin IV. The problem is that the Millennium Falcon is being tracked by the Imperials who follow them to Yavin, and the rebels have to launch a last ditch assault, while if Princess Leia had been a little more patient, some kind of well-thought out sabotage attempt could have been made later. While everything worked out in the end, why did Princess Leia not try to be more discrete in getting the plans to the alliance? She knew they were being tracked, she even told Han Solo that, but regardless she lead the Imperials right to the rebel's hidden base. To make matters even worse, the rebels didn't even attempt to evacuate Yavin even though the odds of them winning were virtually zero.

I love movies, literature, history, music and the NBA. I love all things nerdy including but not limited to Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and Firefly. My artistic idols are Dylan, Dostoevsky, and Malick and my goal in life is to become like Bernard Black from Black Books. When I die, I hope to turn into the space baby from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
