Thanks in no small part to the MCU, the shared universe trend is currently in full flow in Hollywood. After Marvel Studios' success, this world building strategy has been used, or at least attempted by Warner Bros. and DC Comics, and Universal with their Dark Universe. In the background of one Kindergarten scene there is a young girl with the exact same hair, same colour eyes, and even a similar coloured top to Boo from 2003's Monsters Inc.
