10 Stupid Decisions Made By Characters In The Alien Franchise

6. Dallas And Ripley Leave The Medway Door Open - Alien

Alien Covenant
20th Century Studios

When a facehugger attaches itself to Kane, Dallas and Lambert rush him back to the ship, only for Ripley to refuse to let them aboard citing quarantine regulations. Ash goes against her wishes and lets them back aboard and Kane is moved to the medbay.

After a fierce debate as to who did the right or wrong thing, Dallas decides to have Kane isolated in the medbay until they can figure out how to help him.

This seems to satisfy the crew, but later on when the facehugger goes missing, both Ripley and Dallas throw their recent concerns for the lives of their fellow crewmates out the airlock. Not only do Dallas and Ripley enter the medbay in search of the facehugger without any kind of protective clothing or weapons, but they leave the door to the medbay wide open.

It is later discovered that the facehugger is dead, but both Dallas and Ripley took an insane risk. Worst case scenario would have been the facehugger was alive and attached itself to one of them or escaped onto the rest of the ship and attacked another member of the crew.
