8. Dr. Giggles (Doctors)
And now we're onto fears that, thankfully, I mostly can't relate to all that much. "Iatrophobia" is a fear of doctors, one which many posit stems from a fear of death or one's own mortality related to an encounter with a doctor (though we'll get to that later). The horror genre is famed for its menagerie of terrifying doctors, and given that visiting the doctor is normally either a painful, laborious or embarrassing activity, it isn't exactly something that most of us savour. Dr. Giggles takes it to another level, though; the titular character is a mass-murdering doctor who manages to escape from the mental institution and returns to his home town to re-start his killing spree. This film at once makes it clear that your regular doctor is nothing to be afraid of, and is so absurdly hilarious that you'll struggle to take any doctors seriously. His maniacal laughs, the ridiculously over-the-top gore, the cheesy punch-lines all add up to a film that's going to renew precisely nobody's fear of doctors.
