10 Stupid Movies That Will Help You Conquer Fears

6. Anaconda (Snakes)

"Ophidiophobia" is the fear of snakes, again one that seems fairly rational...if you're living in Sub-Saharan Africa. Seeing as most of the people reading this are not, what are you scared of? Much like Arachnophobia, why not sit down and watch a ridiculously unrealistic film about giant snakes to quell your fears? One such film is Anaconda, a thoroughly ridiculous killer snake movie starring Jennifer Lopez, Jon Voight, Ice Cube, Owen Wilson, Eric Stoltz and Danny Trejo that has enjoyed something of a cult - read as: drunk student - status in recent years. The premise is simple; the aforementioned goons start getting munched on by a thoroughly unconvincing CGI spider, which even manages to eat them whole as it might an antelope or something. Of course, anyone with a basic knowledge of snakes knows that even the biggest ones would struggle to fit a human in their mouths, let alone swallow them. This may be a case of a film that was terrifying when it first came out, but as the effects have dated, it's instead reformed as a cheesy yet entertaining B-movie that's well worthy of your time (especially if you're scared of snakes).
