10 Summer Blockbuster Movies That Should Never Have Happened

5. Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle

Returning as the eponymous trio, Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu model swimwear and compete with the special effects for your attention, but following one too many fights with director Joseph McGinty Nicol (sometimes known as McG), Bill Murray has morphed into Bernie Mac. Mac makes fun of the actor in one scene, but Bill gets the last laugh – he was Oscar-nominated for Lost In Translation that same year.

Even a movie whose idea of wit is a character called Helen Zaas (say it three times very fast) needs a plot, so the Angels chase a pair of information-laiden rings for….oh, some reason, leading to fast-cut action sequences that spoof The Matrix. If you were pitching Full Throttle to an executive, you’d need storyboards, because words alone cannot describe the seemingly random succession of scenes where everyone’s jumping or running about but nothing really happens.

Even if you’re not expecting much from this glorified music video, the repetitive fight scenes will make you nod off, provided Diaz’s character doesn’t make you want to slap her first (small world dept.: Anna Faris’ actress in Lost In Translation is based on her).
