10 Superhero Costumes That Would Make Criminals Die Laughing

3. Batman (Batman The Movie, 1966)

Batman and Robin Adam West Someone somewhere was having a right old giggle when they commissioned the mega camp Batman TV series in the 1960's but there's no denying just how successful it was and to some extent still is thanks to early morning repeats on obscure TV channels. In 1966 it was even given its own live action movie and despite being overly silly (shark repellent spray anyone) was still much better than Batman Forever and Batman and Robin combined. To go along with the camp format the two main heroes were given overtly camp costumes. As bad as Robin's was though it was Adam West's Batman that left a lot to be desired. His figure hugging suit that supported West's man boobs and his drawn on eyebrows that allowed him to look constantly perplexed were genius designs that added to the mystique of The Dark Knight. There's no wonder criminals ran in fear when Batman was on the scene. An honourable mention here goes to Batman's faithful butler Alfred who totally unconvincingly took up the mantle of the titular hero whenever Bruce Wayne was in peril. Amazingly no one ever noticed that Batman aged about 60 years and had a moustache now and again. Probably too distracted by that chavy gold utility belt.
