10 Superhero Movies That Changed Comic Book Characters Forever
4. The Avengers - Hawkeye
In the MCU films Clint Barton never wore his iconic purple winged suit. Alas, comic book fans didn't have to be too disappointed as this interpretation of the hero spawned Hawkeye (2012-2015), by writer Matt Fraction, and artist David Aja.
In the movies we saw a Hawkeye who mostly dressed in all black leather, evoking his fundamentalist philosophy, and how is family is more important to him than everyone knowing his superhero persona. Regrettably, this makes Hawkeye one of the most aesthetically lacklustre superheroes put to screen.
Being one of the best Hawkeye runs to date, Fraction, and Aja delivered a story in which Clint Barton is fighting crime in an urban environment, with the help from his dog, and the youthful Kate Bishop.
It managed to balance the simplistic art style with droll banter between Kate, and Clint. And watching Clint be a dysfunctional mentor to Bishop echoes back to the speech Hawkeye gave Wanda Maximoff, to convince her to assist in battle in Avengers: Age Of Ultron.
