7. General Zod (Man of Steel and Superman II)
This hurts too, as dated as the film looks, Terence Stamp was so much fun in this role as the aloof General but wow did he suck at fighting. Now I'm including Man of Steel's Zod in this list too and not only is that incredibly unimaginative but also slightly unfair given the nature of the more recent film. They both lose to Superman, a country boy with no military background. Stamp's Zod gets thrown into a billboard, later gets put in a chokehold and then gets tossed into a pit when he loses his powers (presumably where he dies) This Zod is slightly easier to forgive but only slightly, Reeve's Superman is more experienced than the recent incarnation and the movie itself is quite tongue-in-cheek at times and has enough bigger plot-holes to worry about. Man of Steel's Zod just looks more badass, it's a great performance too and probably my favorite one in the film. However, he loses to a rookie Superman and gets his neck snapped. He also got his arse (I'm British by the way) handed to him by Jor-el at the beginning of the movie, which by the way was a great little fight scene. Stamp's Zod could always have been a general rather than an outright warrior but the newer version makes it plain how he was born for kicking arse but then gets beaten. Twice. They could easily have used this villain again but he goes out in a way that annoyed a lot of fans.
Here's how bad both Zods are. THE SMALLVILLE VERSION WAS BETTER!!! He looked more intimidating and got the best of a Clark Kent who actually had some idea how to fight. I'll sit down now.
