6. Princess Leia Knows The Empire Are Tracking Them... Goes To Secret Rebel Base Anyway - Star Wars
Princess Leia is the only female character in
Star Wars who really gets anything to do, and though she spends much of the movie being captured and being subsequently rescued, we can assume from her position as a high-up member of the Rebel Alliance that she's a brainy sort of lass. Even when Luke and Han show up to rescue her on the Death Star, she ends up saving
them by blasting a hole in a vent and ushering them inside. She's the kind of gal you'd want on your side during any intergalactic despite, making solid and informed tactical decisions. Except, like, not at all, given what occurs after the gang's miraculous escape from the Death Star. After the Millennium Falcon takes off, Luke and Hank shoot down a couple TIE fighters, and everybody is home free! It's at this point that Leia ponders why the escape was so darn easy, and even says (out loud!) that they're probably being tracked. That'd be okay if they were heading for some unimportant place like Mos Eisely, but they're heading to the
secret Rebel base! So didn't Leia suggest some other alternative, given that this is the exact reason as to how the Empire find out where the Rebels are hiding. It's not like she didn't realise; she mentioned it out loud!
