10 Surprising Moments Of Genius From Michael Bay

1. 360 Degree Shootout (Bad Boys 2)

Bad Boys 2 My favourite action sequence in Bad Boys 2 isn't the highway chase or even the awesome favela sequence in Cuba, but in fact the technically superb shootout between Mike, Marcus and a gang of haitians inside a dilapidated house they reside in. Combining stunning visuals with clever CGI - which allows Bay to pass through doorways to give us a spinning 360-degree shootout, essentially - and some hilarious one liners ("Who in my house?" / "The Devil, who's askin'?" / "The devil is not welcome heeeeeeeere"), this is a highly inventive shootout that above all else proves that Bay really doesn't get enough credit when it comes to staging action that's on the ground as opposed to that which is in the air with CGI machines. Full of gore, frantic gunplay and some welcome humour, this is a great scene that has it all and proves Bay's (occasional) genius. What are your favourite Michael Bay moments?
