8. Both Died & Came Back To Life
Whilst Thor was depowered on Earth, in the aforementioned scene in which he confronted the Destroyer Armour (as controlled by Loki), he was actually killed by it. Loki ruthlessly struck Thor with the super-powered armour whilst he was trying to get through to him, sending him flying and wounding him fatally. However, the act of bravery in confronting the armour whilst powerless proved Thor worthy enough of wielding Mjolnir - the hammer he had been deprived of for his recklessness - which brought it back to him and, thus, brought Thor back to life as powerful as ever. On the same note, Buffy has died and come back to life no less than twice (she's died three times if you include the alternate universe episode "The Wish"). The Master drowned Buffy during a fight in the season one finale - a fight in which she was prophesied to die. After the Master departed the scene, Xander and Angel arrived and Xander quickly revived her with CPR. Also, at the climax of season five, when Buffy discovered that the only way to close a portal to a hell dimension was with the blood of her sister, she realised that she shared the same blood as her and jumped in to the portal, killing herself. She was resurrected from her grave using magic by her friends at the start of season six.
