10 Surprisingly Grim Deaths In "Family" Movies
1. <span Style="font-size: 17.55px;">Lord Farquaad - </span>Shrek
If you could completely forget everything about a movie and watch it again for the first time, you all know full well it would be Shrek. The utterly bizarre premise that an Ogre could ever be the protagonist of his own film franchise is still a bit confusing, on the face of it, but Shrek's cinematic debut is easily one of the best family films of all time.
To say that this film appeals to all ages is akin to such statements as: water is wet, grass is green and Coldplay are terrible - cold, hard facts. However, this film was initially billed as being geared towards children and is written so beautifully that the more risque jokes fly over their innocent heads but there is one moment that you can't protect the kids from... the grim death of Lord Maximus Farquaad.
We can all agree that the despicable Farquaad is a villain who really deserved a pretty unpleasant fate but to be eaten alive by a dragon? A dragon that didn't chew no less. This means that, like Boba Fett, Lord Farquaad was probably digested ALIVE!
It takes the average human six to eight hours to digest food but no such accurate research has been carried out on dragons so I can't be particular on how long Farquaad would have been in there for... slowly being broken down...
