10 Surprisingly Grim Deaths In "Family" Movies

Over the years, the MCU has racked up a serious body count but some hit a lot harder than others given the franchise's habit of resurrecting characters as and when they see fit. A key example here? Loki of Asgard who almost definitely perished at the end of the first Thor movie only to be brought back for Avengers Assemble and finally killed off in Endgame... until time travel meant he isn't actually dead, obviously.
Even though some characters laugh in the face of death in the MCU, one who we won't be seeing again is Michael Rooker's Yondu Udonta. A masterful performance from Rooker gifted audiences an anti-hero they could truly root for right up to the moment he made the ultimate sacrifice to save his adoptive son: Peter Quill, Star-Lord.
Just as Star-Lord's biological father exploded hurling the Guardian's leader into the vacuum of space, Yondu carried Quill away from the blast and gave him his flight suit, saving his life.
Emotional turmoil, yes but grim? Oh hell yes. Yondu's on screen demise is actually very tame (suffocating/freezing to death) but a little bit of research shows that, in actual fact, it would be a much slower death... seriously Google Ebullism and go from there.
