10 Surprisingly Grim Deaths In "Family" Movies

If, like me, you've done everything you can to erase this particular movie death from your memory then you've probably forgotten that Finding Nemo doesn't open with the overprotective Marlin sending his only son, Nemo, to school for the very first time - oh no, it does not!

The film actually opens with Marlin and his soulmate Coral looking after their eggs after settling down to raise a family in what they believed would be their very own happily ever after. All the signs were good and who could have predicted that Pixar would destroy this idyllic picture of family happiness within minutes?

Well, actually, anyone who has seen a Pixar movie probably should have spotted that there's something of trend to their movies but you can be forgiven for thinking that this one might have been different!

Tragically, a Barracuda descends on the reef the family chose to make their home and Coral dashes to protect her unhatched children leading the monstrous Barracuda right to them. Mercifully, the screen fades to black as Marlin is knocked out trying to distract the attacker from his partner and offspring but we are left to decide for ourselves whether Coral had to watch her eggs be devoured by the Barracuda or if she was the first to fall victim to the terrifying rows of razor sharp teeth.

I prefer the latter, to an extent, but never want to revisit this again - moving on!
