10 Surprisingly Realistic Movie Scenes Nobody Saw Coming
7. Breaking A Window HURTS - The Nice Guys
Shane Black's The Nice Guys offers up one gut-bustingly funny dose of cinematic realism in an establishing scene, when PI Holland March (Ryan Gosling) attempts to break into a building by punching his fist through the window.
March wraps his hand up in an attempt to lessen the risk of injury, and between this and March's too-cool-for-school noir-ish narration, there's no reason to expect anything less than success.
But as soon as March punches the glass, he receives a nasty gash on his wrist which begins quickly spurting blood. March sees the extent of the injury, remarks how much blood is pouring out, and quickly faints.
Black then immediately cuts to Marsh being rushed to hospital in the back of an ambulance as the medics frantically attempt to stop him from bleeding out, even shouting, "We're losing him!"
As easy as conventional action heroes might make it look to smash a window, the likelihood of causing yourself a grave injury is incredibly high.
