10 Suspiciously Similar Movies Released In The Same Year

1. Snow White - Snow White & The Huntsman vs. Mirror Mirror (2012)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUc6ypuiKHs Rupert Sander's Snow White and the Huntsman is a gritty re-imagining of the classic Grimm fairy-tale with a darker tone and more elaborate visuals, whereas Tarsem Singh's Mirror Mirror is a lighter, sillier take that is better aimed towards children if admittedly boasting some cracking visuals of its own. What Came First: Mirror Mirror began shooting around 3 months before Huntsman, and was similarly released around 2 months earlier. Of course, neither one is really ripping off the other at all - the two are stylistically different and adapting a classic tale that's been told a billion times. What Was Better: Unquestionably Huntsman; the dark tone was enjoyable to watch, as were the performances, especially Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen. Mirror Mirror, on the other hand, is offensively bland even if you're a young child. Awful, awful, awful. Both films had mixed critical responses, though Huntsman fared far better at the box office.
