10 Teen Actors Who Should Play The New Spider-Man

It's not a one horse race.

Spider-Man is going through some changes, and about time too. Both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's on-screen versions of the comic hero have been older than the source material's classically teenaged dork, who nonetheless dons a colourful costume to become a hero. According to a possibly leaked shortlist of actors Sony are looking at for their third rebooted Spider-Man, they're going back to school. That's what the age range of those prospective actors suggests, and it's been backed up MCU mastermind Kevin Feiege as well: "In terms of the age of an actor we€™ll eventually to cast, I don€™t know. In terms of the age of what we believe Peter Parker is, I€™d say 15-16 is right. We want to play with Spider-Man in the high school years because frankly there€™ve been five Spider-Man films and the amazing thing about it is, there are so many things from the comics that haven€™t been done yet." Unfortunately they're not changing things quite so radically as they could - many were disappointed at the decision to put Peter Parker under the mask again for Spider-Man's long-awaited introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, rather than giving the half-Latino, half-black Miles Morales from the comics a chance. Still, it's a big deal that Peter Parker is actually going to look like Peter Parker for the first time. Almost as big a deal that he's now going to be part of the MCU (rumour has it the new film will even bear the subtitle €œThe New Avenger€), which will require a performer of some stature and talent. With all that in mind, here are ten actors who should play the new Spider-Man.
