10 Teen Actors Who Should Play The New Spider-Man

10. Kodi Smit-McPhee

Australian 18-year-old Smit-McPhee deserves a break. The young actor made a name for himself with roles in the apocalyptic likes of Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes and The Road, both of which proved he had some serious acting chops even as a child. They were also both totally depressing; his performance in Let Me In was similarly as impressive as his character's situation was dire. He's since been finding his feet as an actor graduating from kid roles to being a proper grown-up, playing Benvolio in Carlo Carlei's controversial adaptation of Romeo & Juliet (which took the plot and setting of the Shakespeare play but came up with its own dialogue), and he's soon to appear in modern Western Slow West opposite Michael Fassbender. Kodi Smit-McPhee will also act alongside Fassbender in the forthcoming X-Men: Apocalypse, his commitment to which might make it difficult for him to take up as Peter Parker. Still, on the off-chance he's only contracted to appear in Fox's X-Men universe for one film, the acrobatic, superhero skills he learns there as the teleporting circus performer Nightcrawler would certainly suit Spidey.
