Speaking of terrible CGI dogs, 2017's The Bye Bye Man is a quite horrific experience, but not in the way that was probably intended.

The spooky titular figure - played by the terrific Doug Jones, who has brought many a supernatural creature to screens in the past - is joined by a canine sidekick in the Stacy Title-directed picture. But instead of striking fear into the hearts of viewers the world over when the mighty Gloomsinger arrives and chews on the odd face, you'll likely just struggle to keep yours straight.

This animal, created via sewing together the body parts of the Bye Bye Man's victims, definitely had the potential to be a quite unnerving beast. It's a shame then that, after choosing not to opt for a more practical solution, the shoddy CGI used to chuck this demon dog into the film made him look like something someone would fire a plastic gun at in an arcade in the '80s.

Never once are you made to feel like this bloodthirsty chum is the intimidating threat the team behind the movie wanted it to be, with the film's low budget really showing here and this poorly made artificial hound definitely being one of the poorest parts of an already disappointing film.

Still, you won't forget that face in a hurry.
