10 Terrible CGI Moments In Huge Comic Book Movies
5. Frost's Regeneration (Blade)
Given how many horrible examples of CGI effects there are from the 2000s, what hope did Blade have of producing some convincing ones back in 1998? Little to none, but that can be overlooked... for the most part.
The action is bombastic enough throughout Wesley Snipes's vampire extermination fest to ignore those bad guys exploding into a mess of computerised sparks, though blissful ignorance is almost impossible during the final act.
When Blade locks horns with Deacon Frost, the vampire is infused with the power of the ancient blood god La Magra, but the movie didn't quite have the special effects capability to portray said powers on screen.
When the hero slices his opponent clean in two, his body magically reforms itself while blocky tendrils of computerised blood fill the arena. It makes Samuel L Jackson's death scene from Deep Blue Sea look like a work of digitised art.
Things soon take a turn for the crappier when Frost regrows a severed hand. No amount of pulsating music or dramatic choreography could distract from how truly shoddy this looks in 2017.
