For those who don't know, the word "Ouija" is actually a trademark owned by Hasbro.

The Monopoly people.

Can't wait for that special edition, where the cost of Baltic Avenue is your own soul.

In horror movie parlance, the O-word is usually used in conjunction with the 2014 release from Blumhouse Productions. There are about four more films also called Ouija, which is hardly surprising when you consider how basic a horror concept it actually is.

In the film, a group of buds use the titular board to communicate with their friend... who was killed by a Ouija board.

That's like trying to put out fire with a blowtorch.

Whilst it grips you with its title and offers up a world of possession-based possibilities, Ouija fails to follow through on a lot of its potential and ends up becoming your bog standard supernatural horror.

This was most definitely a case of idea first, ask questions later, only they forgot to ask the questions. Somehow, this film ended up getting several sequels and the franchises doesn't look like its done yet.

Someone should really check the Blumhouse offices for any magical board games.
