10 Terrible Horror Movies That Tricked You Into Thinking They’re Good

At the 64th Oscars ceremony in 1991, The Silence of the Lambs swept the board and became just the third film in history to win in all five of the main categories.

Seeing the possibility for more artistic triumph - and money, don't forget the money - film producers up and down the country began ripping up their local libraries in search of more Thomas Harris novels to adapt.

The next one came ten years later, when Anthony Hopkins reprised his role as the well-spoken serial killer in a movie just called Hannibal.

In this adventure, Doctor Lecter is still being pursued by Clarice Starling, although this time she is under the manipulation of one of his old victims.

Fun fact, Gary Oldman requested not to be credited for his role as Mason Verger, presumably because he knew how mid this movie was going to be.

Hannibal's got a decent amount of suspense, Hopkins is obviously good fun, and you get to see some nice museums in it. But does it live up to Silence of the Lambs? Of course not!

It didn't even get Jodie Foster back!

That should have been a huge red flag.
