10 Terrible Horror Movies (You Couldn't Stop Thinking About)

9. Feardotcom

Warner Bros.

At the turn of the century, we were inundated with a glut of low-rent techno-horror flicks absolutely obsessed with the dangers of the Internet.

And one of the more bewildering examples is 2002's Feardotcom, in which a website depicting torture and murder turns those who view it suicidally insane.

Despite the innately goofy concept it takes itself dead-seriously from start to finish, which of course makes it difficult not to giggle your way through it.

More than this, though, the flat script wastes one hell of a talented ensemble cast, including Stephen Dorff, Natascha McElhone, Stephen Rea, Jeffrey Combs, and the great Udo Kier.

That's quite the overqualified roster for a film whose concept and execution is so worthy of the bargain basement.

And yet, it's just eccentric and stupid enough to be memorable, not least because the titular website in the movie itself is actually Feardotcom.com.

Despite being one of the few movies to get an illustrious "F" CinemaScore from audiences, Feardotcom lives on today as something of a perverse cult classic - a relic of the early 2000s' distinct fascination with the meteoric impact of the world wide web.
