9 Terrible Jobs The Movies Made Look Awesome

4. Stock Broker - The Wolf Of Wall Street

The Wolf Of Wall Street 39749In Reality: Talk about a high stress environment. Anyone in the financial industry, especially those tasked with handling other people's money, is under an enormous amount of pressure. The thought that one wrong call or a bad tip could lead someone to lose everything is a terrifying prospect. These people have families who depend on them to provide, and to have them place their trust in you to ensure they can continue doing so is incredibly daunting. It's also a large part of the reason why money market employees have such a high rate of suicide. Predicting the financial market can be a nightmare, and keeping up with the ebbs and flows while trying to fight off migraines and maintain your sanity is enough to send some of these people all the way over the edge. In The Film: Jordan Belfot lives a fantasy life that most of us can only dream of. If you can overlook the fact that he's a despicable human being (and a sweet yacht and millions of dollars certainly help with that), his life is like something out of a movie, ironic in a movie that is something out of a real life. These guys blow through people's life savings at the same rate as they do platefuls of cocaine, have hooker parades and shoot little people from slingshots. The sickest cars, mountains of cash, trophy wives and multiple lavish residences have us regular joes envious. Paul Stanley once said "The best thing about having money is the freedom of not having to worry about having money". Well Jordan and his colleagues behave as if they have the freedom not to worry about anything, which unfortunately for them includes a major criminal investigation. But it was fun while it lasted.
